Pneumatic Fender

Pneumatic Fender

"hippo" Pneumatic Fenders are manufactured by lining and vulcanising process under high pressure and temperature to ensure adequate bonding with each layer to ensure a trouble-free long life. Having a fully-capable in-house facility, ABC RUBBER PRODUCTS provides manufacturing and testing of "hippoPneumatic Fenders strictly per ISO 17357-1: 2014. "hippo" Pneumatic Fenders are offered as Sling Type OR generally equipped with a chain and tyre net assembly, with Automobile tyres or Aircraft tyres depending on the client's requirements. HIPPO Pneumatic Fenders from ABC RUBBER PRODUCTS are available with internal air pressures of 0.5 kg/cm2 (50 kPa) and 0.8 kg/cm2 (80 kPa).

FEATURES
  • Frequently utilized for ship-to-ship transfers, remote docking, angled berthing, and naval operations
  • Pneumatic fenders exhibit significantly lower impact on ships and jetty structures compared to other fenders
  • Suitable for high tide fluctuations

  • Generally the most cost-effective option in various scenarios
  • Easy and fast to deploy
APPLICATIONS
  • Employed for rapid response and emergency
  • situations
  • Applied in both temporary and permanent
  • installations & transfers
  • Utilized by fast ferries and aluminum vessels

  • Common in naval activities

TYPES OF PNEUMATIC FENDERS

TYPE I: CHAIN-TIRE-NET (CT) TYPE

STANDARD TYRE CHAIN NET (STCN)

"hippo" STCN fenders have a low carbon footprint and are environmentally friendly. They are simple and fast to install, providing efficient setup and deployment. Their durable construction ensures a long lifespan, even under conditions prone to abrasion. By preventing damage to a ship's hull, these fenders offer crucial protection. Additionally, their rugged bodies shield them from cuts and punctures caused by sharp objects, enhancing their longevity and reliability.

These fenders are frequently used in ship-to-ship transfers and serve as effective solutions for temporary or emergency fendering systems. They are also utilized by tankers, gas carriers, bulk cargo ships, fast ferries, and other aluminum hull vessels.

AIRCRAFT TYRE CHAIN NET (ATCN)

"hippo" ATCN fenders are made from aircraft tires or specially molded tires, ensuring a longer service life compared to standard chain nets. They also offer the advantage of low maintenance costs.

These fenders are frequently used in ship-to-ship transfers and serve as effective solutions for temporary or emergency fendering systems. They are also utilized by tankers, gas carriers, bulk cargo ships, fast ferries, and other aluminum hull vessels.

GREY BODY GREY HARNESSING (GBGH)

"hippo" GBGH fenders are used in situations where ships require non-marking fenders, helping to lower the cost of painting the ship's hull.

These fenders are used for naval ship operations and cruise terminals.

GREY HARNESSING (GH)

"hippo" GH fender has special chain net harnessing with non-marking grey or white tires. Grey or white sleeves is used to prevent black marks during berthing, effectively overcoming this common issue.

These fenders are particularly useful for naval ships and are employed in ship-to-ship transfers. They also serve as effective solutions for temporary or emergency fendering systems.

TYPE II: SLING OR HOOK TYPE

STANDARD CHAIN NET (SCN)

"hippo" SCN fenders don't have a harnessing thus they have thick outer layer of rubber to have better abrasion resistance and long life. With no steel chain in contact between the ship and jetty, they prevent potential damage during berthing. They offer quick installation, require minimal maintenance, and are suitable for both small and large tidal ranges. Additionally, they maintain significant clearances between the hull and surrounding structures.

These fenders are most commonly used for naval applications, passenger vessels, and ships with sensitive hull structures.

SLING-TYPE GREY BODY (SGB)

"hippo" SGB fenders offer all the benefits of regular sling-type fenders, with the added advantage of a grey outer rubber layer designed for non-marking applications. These fenders are available in both white and grey colors, and they are faster to install and require very low maintenance.

These fenders are most predominantly used for naval applications where non-marking properties are essential. They are also suitable for passenger vessels & situations where abrasion from harnessing is unacceptable.
